Meet our members: Rob Mills

Continuing our love for sharing the work and wonderfulness of our Rabble members, we had a chat with Rob; Content Strategist for GatherContent, about writing, travelling and adorable Cats!

Good Day to you Rob! Tell us a bit about you. What do you do, where are you from and what keeps you busy?

I’m a Content Strategist for GatherContent, an online platform for teams to easily organise and produce content for website projects.

It’s hard to summarise the role as it changes so much each day, but the main tasks are customer research, editorial, copywriting, creating and maintaining the company content style guide, content planning, creating UX copy in the product, producing educational resources for content professionals and hosting our webinars and masterclasses.

I’m from Cardiff and I’m kept busy with travelling (for work and pleasure), the gym, writing and searching for something to watch on Netflix but giving up after 30 minutes of trawling. Every. Day.


Why did you join Rabble? Has it met your expectations?

I had been working remotely for two years and it started to become isolating. Working from home has a lot of perks, but I was starting to miss the social side of the workplace and being around people. I spend a lot of my day on video calls with the GatherContent team but it’s nice to be in a physical space with others.

Before GatherContent I worked for an agency (Bluegg) in Cardiff and joining Rabble meant I could stay in touch with the creative community in Cardiff too.

Rabble has exceeded my expectations. The care and consideration that the team puts into making it a nice environment really shows and there are lots of little details that really make it feel like a little family. It’s nice to have a social side to the co-working space too as I miss that with my actual team.


We love GatherContent, What have you been working on recently?

We launched a new book this month! It’s called Content Delivery and was written to help teams deliver high quality website content, on time and in budget.

I managed the production, did the editing, helped with distribution and plenty of other tasks to get it done. We’re really pleased with the response so far.

I’ve also been working on producing resources for agencies to help them adopt a content-first process for website projects. It’s been nice to revisit my agency days and meet with some creative agencies in Cardiff as part of that work.


Any plans for the future? Long or short, the choice is yoouuurrsss…

Plenty! Work-wise there are more books in the pipeline (including one authored by me) and I’m also working more closely with the product team on the copy within the product and the UX.

We’ll also be growing our library of resources such as webinars and masterclasses so I’m about to kick off some fo that work too.


Your instagram is full of wonderful cats! Tell us about your furry babies…

Ha. Well they’re Burt and Dora. 6 and 5 respectively. Burt is like my shadow, an adorably needy little thing. Dora is more independent and selective with her affection but I know (hope!) she loves me deep down.
